Introducing myself and why I think my writing could benefit you.
Hi again.
This is a question i have asked myself atleast a million times whenever i have thought about putting my thoughts out there. Why would anyone with a right mind read me and try to seek some advise from me.
But you know what? Because i actually am smart and practical enough to give you a piece of advice which can really help you out. This is something i took ages to realise first, and secondly, accept. I have talked to bunch of my junior friends who have entered my college with such a confused outlook that they wish to do everything but dont think they can do anything. its really disheartening to see them trying to grasp what is going on. however, i have been able to guide atleast few juniors on how to take in college. how to settle in. i have helped them recognise the very rat race i stand against. with the same intent i wish to write here, talk to anyone who might need the help or whatever advise, to STAY AWAY FROM THE RAT RACE.
Now why would reading me even slightly benefit you? Because I have read a lot of people and learnt from experiences. A formula which i have very dearly followed in my life and share it to literally anyone who would not mind listening to it is this:
Knowledge = Experiences
Experiences = Personal Experience + Other's Experiences
There are many ways one can gain personal experience. One of the best ways is to travel. I feel that until you are 60, or until your wish to learn more has almost died down, travelling is the single best investment you can make in self development. I intend to talk about self development a lot through my blog, but 1 thing i would say right now is, that no matter whether you are student with minimum pocket money, or a corporate folk with no free time at hand; if it means selling your priced possessions and using that money to travel, then i would recommend doing that. there is nothing on this planet that would teach you more than travelling.
Other's experience. How do you get that? Firstly, you can obviously talk. Your father could tell you about whatever rivers he crossed to reach his school, your friend could tell you all about her volleyball camp, your other friend could tell you about his new startup idea. But this doesnt seem enough. try considering a wider pool of 'resource persons' from whom you can learn. think of the best of the bests. chances are they have written a book. an autobiography, or the success of their project, or even the failure of their project. every person has so much to teach and share. We simply have stopped tapping into that unlimited pool of resource. Only if we started doing that. Hence, reading is the key. The more you read, the more you learn.
(I will talk about the formula, and how I have been personally impacted by these in upcoming blogs. Will also share my idea on how this can impact any student no matter what field they belong to)
As a student, I have been very fortunate to travel significantly till now. But something which I have done more, which has impacted me more is reading. Whatever practical knowledge I have, or whatever 'wisdom' i might have gained, all boils down to reading with no bounds.
Hence, i feel that i can not only share personal experiences with you (and trust me i have had a very interesting college life. not a good one, but interesting for sure) but also what i have learnt from people. I can tell you about people who have achieved significant things in their lives. who are willing to guide people like us. who are sharing their lives with us so we learn something good.
treat this blog as a sum total of all information you might need to actual stand apart from the crowd. when i was considerably young i used to get this weird sort of wish. that no matter where i am, if there comes a time where its someones job to introduce me to some other person, they should feel troubled with starting my introduction. obviously not in a bad way. but in a way that they would try to come up with an interesting anecdote, or a quote or anything to summarise who i actually am. How i might be the most interesting person they have met till now.
I am wayyyyyy far from that. havent done anything to get that treatment as of now. but that is still my goal. getting to a point where even my introduction has to be carefully thought out to present a true picture of me.
So? After reading a self-memoir. Why even read my stuff? Idk man, i guess there might come something in one of the blogs that changes the way you look at studying? or maybe make you understand how there is a race even outside the rat race?? or even the idea that ideal student you should be striving to be isnt someone with the best marks??? Maybe this, maybe something else, or maybe nothing. Who knows? But i am certain of one thing. you are bound to learn about living a student life that is meant to upgrade yourself as a professional as opposed to a student; which trust me, has helped a lot of people in their life.
